Team Sydlik Picture, Winter 2025

After my sabbatical at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer research in Germany in 2024... I'm back! I'm thrilled to be here. While there are definitely some things I miss about Germany, I am so happy to be back working with everyone at CMU. The team started 2025 with a lab cleanup and great energy. It's way too cold to take an outside picture, but it had been over a year so it was time. Here's our Winter 2025 group picture.

Summer Picnic

This weekend, Team Sydlik gathered at the nearby Schenley Park to enjoy a late 4th of July picnic. I was happy that friends, family, and significant others were able to attend too! It's important to have good support outside of lab to have a happy researcher in lab, so I am grateful for the "extended team" that the Sydlik group has too. Doubly exciting, we welcomed new graduate rotating graduate student Karoline on Sunday too!

ACS Colloids Symposium

This week the Sydlik Group is attending our first conference! The ACS Colloids and Surface Science Symposium is being hosted at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, so we didn't have to travel far. ;) Annie and Zoe will be presenting a poster and Prof Sydlik will be giving a talk on the biocompatibility of our osteomimetic graphene materials for bone regeneration.
