Today, we'll have the first of our posts introducing group members. Up first, is postdoc extraordinaire, Brian Holt! Brian joined the Sydlik Group in July of 2015 and has been an essential member of the team ever since. Brian is a wealth of information, always willing to help, and an all around nice guy.
Dr. Holt received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from CMU
studying sub-cellular localization and processing of single wall carbon
nanotubes. After switching to Materials Science and Engineering but remaining in
his PhD group for a brief stint as a postdoc, he then joined The Sydlik Group
in the Department of Chemistry. His biomedical engineering background and
expertise in carbon nanotube/cell interaction will complement the group’s
expertise in materials and polymer chemistry as he works on the project to
develop osteomimetic graphene composite scaffolds for bone regeneration.
